Charitable Remainder Trust

A charitable remainder trust (CRT) is another “life income gift” that utilizes the transfer of cash or appreciated property into an independent trust and directs income interest to one or more beneficiaries. MPF can be named a beneficiary of a CRT. A CRT also provides an immediate income tax deduction and increased annual income. A CRT gift is held and managed by the trustee you choose. You and other designated beneficiaries receive income during your lifetime(s), and after your death, the remaining assets are donated to the charities of your choice. With a CRT it is possible to keep more, spend more, and leave more for your heirs while supporting the causes that you love.

Please consult with MPF in advance of your decision so that we can make sure your intentions are fully met. We would be happy to talk with you about how to leave a prairie conservation legacy for future generations. Please contact MPF Executive Director Carol Davit at the Missouri Prairie Foundation at (573) 356-7828 or info@moprairie.org.
